The Bleisure Boom: Turning Business Travel into Memorable Experiences

Business travel has evolved. No longer defined by jet lag and endless boardroom marathons, it now blends productivity with experience. A new kind of traveller is emerging – one who seamlessly shifts between work and leisure, closing deals by day and catching world-class concerts or sporting events by night.

This shift, known as bleisure travel, isn’t entirely new – but it’s rapidly gaining momentum. According to Allied Market Research, the global bleisure market was valued at $315.3 billion in 2022 and is projected to more than double to $731.4 billion by 2032.

In the US, the trend is especially clear. A 2024 Skyscanner study found that 83% of U.S. travellers combine business with leisure at least occasionally, while 42% typically add two or more holiday days to their work trips.

As a frequent business traveller myself, I’ve fully embraced this shift. Exploring a city beyond the boardroom brings much-needed balance to the journey. But anyone navigating a tight schedule knows that making the most of your time in any destination comes down to one thing: flawless logistics.

When every minute counts, smooth transitions between airports, meetings, and events turn a business trip into something more memorable. It’s not just about moving from point A to point B – it’s about doing it comfortably, reliably, and on your own terms.

Events Are Changing the Game

One of the biggest drivers of bleisure’s growth? Event tourism. Whether it’s Wimbledon, the Super Bowl, or a music tour, travellers are increasingly motivated by shared, live experiences that offer both connection and escapism.

Take Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as a standout example. More than 10 million fans travelled to see her live, and the US leg alone generated an estimated £5 billion in consumer spending. Dubbed “Swiftonomics,” it’s a powerful illustration of how major events are reshaping travel behaviours, and injecting serious spending into local economies.

For travel professionals and providers, this presents a major opportunity: to create experiences that exceed expectations, catering to business travellers who want it all – business efficiency, a sense of exploration, and zero stress.

The Journey Is the Experience

At the heart of this new travel landscape is how you move. For today’s bleisure traveller, chauffeured transport is no longer just a luxury – it’s a strategic advantage. With easy, flexible scheduling, timings right on the dot, and premium comfort and security, it transforms travel time into part of the adventure.

From airport runways to stadium gates, it’s all about making the journey just as important as the destination. When every detail is seamlessly handled, business travel doesn’t just become more productive – it becomes something to look forward to.
