Ethics

The purpose of this ethics policy is to establish and promote a culture of openness, trust and integrity within TBR’s business practices. Effective ethical practice is a team effort requiring the participation and support of every TBR employee. All employees should familiarize themselves with, and have a commitment to the ethics guidelines that follow this introduction.

TBR is committed to protecting employees, customers, the company itself and all stakeholders from unethical, illegal or damaging actions by others, either knowingly or unknowingly. We believe that doing so will distinguish us from our competitors and will promote social responsibility amongst all stakeholders in the business.

TBR will not tolerate any wrongdoing or impropriety in its business dealings at any time, and will take appropriate measures if the ethical code is broken. Any breach of this code of ethics will not be tolerated.

Objective

The objective of this policy is grounded in the employee’s and customer’s expectation to have fair business practices apply at all times. This policy will serve to guide the behaviour of all stakeholders within our business to ensure ethical conduct.

Policy

Executive Commitment to Ethical conduct
TBR directors must set the primary model for this policy. In any business dealing, honesty and integrity must be adhered to by executives. Executives must be open about the policy and welcome suggestions and concerns from employees, to allow them to feel comfortable discussing any issues or concerns within the work force.

Employee Commitment to Ethics
TBR employees must treat everyone fairly, have mutual respect, promote a team environment and avoid unethical or compromising practices. Every employee must apply our ethical values in their day to day business. Employees will help TBR to increase customer and vendor satisfaction by providing high quality customer service and a timely response to customer concerns.

Maintaining Ethical Practices
Promotion of ethical conduct within interpersonal communications of employees will be recognised. TBR will promote a trustworthy and honest atmosphere to reinforce the vision of ethics within the company. Every employee, manager, and director needs to consistently maintain an ethical stance and support ethical behavior. Employees should encourage open dialogue, get honest feedback and treat everyone fairly, with honesty and objectivity.

Unethical Behaviour
TBR will avoid the intent and appearance of unethical or compromising practice in relationships, actions and communications. We will not tolerate harassment or discrimination, and will seek to promote Equality of Opportunity and Diversity wherever possible. We will not permit impropriety at any time and we will act ethically and responsibly in accordance with laws. TBR employees will not use corporate assets or business relationships for personal use or gain.

Enforcement
Any infractions of this code of ethics will not be tolerated, and TBR will act quickly in correcting the issue if the ethical code is broken. Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment

Human Rights
On the basis of this policy the company will not provide support or work with:

  • Businesses or organisations which fail to uphold basic human rights within their sphere of influence

The company recognises that businesses have the opportunity to ensure that human rights are upheld in all those aspects of their operations that they could reasonably expect to control. These can include:

  • Direct control, such as labour conditions within their factories, for example, or use of land for their operations
  • Indirect influence, for example, companies occupying positions of strategic importance within a country often have opportunities to affect positive social change beyond their own operations.
  • Businesses or organisations with links to an oppressive regime
This relates to regimes where basic human rights, as set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are denied in a systematic manner over time. The company defines “links to an oppressive regime” as:
  • Businesses operating in states governed by oppressive regimes, whose activities are considered to support or benefit the regime, usually at the expense of the indigenous population
  • Businesses using state security forces or supplying arms to state security forces within an oppressive regime.
