From TBR Global to the Olympics

When Lauren Cloherty was offered the chance to work at the Paris Olympics, the decision wasn’t easy. Leaving her position as a Reservations Coordinator at TBR Global for an extended period was a big consideration, but the opportunity to be part of such a monumental event was something she couldn’t pass up. A lifelong fan of the Olympics, Lauren has always admired the way the Games bring people together from around the world to celebrate athletic excellence and national pride. The prospect of experiencing the event firsthand, while also gaining valuable industry exposure, was too exciting to resist.

At the start of her role, Lauren focused on learning the layout of the venues, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns. Once the NBC production team arrived, her work truly began. She coordinated transportation logistics alongside a dispatch team at the International Broadcast Center, often stationed at the airport where she helped manage the arrival of hundreds of personnel daily. This task was especially challenging due to the unpredictable nature of airports and the added complexity of Olympic security and accreditation. Lauren also managed transportation for sports broadcasters, social media personalities, and executives, organizing schedules and handling various requests with a small team of drivers—many of whom already worked with TBR Global, making the collaboration smoother.

Working at the Olympics brought plenty of logistical hurdles. Every day, Lauren navigated road closures, new security protocols, and shifting event schedules, ensuring everyone had the necessary credentials and passes to move smoothly through Paris. The experience was both intense and rewarding, giving her a firsthand look at managing transportation on such a massive scale. One of the highlights of her time in Paris was experiencing the local culture—she was particularly charmed by the sight of Parisians biking with baguettes sticking out of their bags, a quintessentially French image.

Lauren’s time at the Olympics has left her with skills and insights that will be invaluable at TBR Global. Having managed an event of this size, she’s gained confidence in handling large-scale operations and thinking on her feet. Additionally, her deeper familiarity with Paris, a city where TBR Global frequently operates, will be an advantage in future projects.
