Positive brand experiences, customer excellence and the successful delivery of key strategic projects require an excellent team equipped with relevant technology tools. Technology allows our team to be super-efficient, thus enabling us to focus on what matters the most – delivering high-quality services whilst retaining a human touch element, whenever it is needed.
The global technology landscape moves at lightning speed with new solutions emerging every day. We are seeing huge advances in AI, machine learning, data science and analytics, high-speed data networks (5G), unified communications, autonomous vehicles, alternative power sources, mobility as a service (MaaS) and many more. How to pick what is most relevant and what will have the biggest positive impact for our clients is a never-ending challenge.
‘Failing to prepare, is preparing to fail’ is a strong ethos we share at TBR. With the advances in technology, it is imperative to focus on laying the foundations now, to guarantee we can consistently drive excellence across our core three service lines (corporate, roadshows and events). With that in mind, we are investing heavily in auditing security and enhancing the scalability of our systems to ensure we continue to be our clients’ most trusted partner.
Here at TBR, we are often asked if we view driverless cars as a threat. In fact, the opposite is true – we view it as a rather exciting opportunity. Driverless cars are geo-position aware and always connected through high-speed mobile data networks, which makes them an ideal fit for TBR. While we are still a few years away from having a significant number of autonomous cars on our roads, the prospect of developing new incremental services is exciting. We will be looking to form partnerships with early adopters to ensure we are leading the market in using self-driving cars for the provision of premium ground transportation services.
Another key trend emerging across the industry is the concept of MaaS. In essence, MaaS is the integration of various forms of transport services into a centralised mobility tool, accessible on demand. To meet a customer’s request, a MaaS operator facilitates a diverse menu of transport options, including public transport, ride, car or bike-sharing, taxi or car rental/lease, or a combination thereof. Whilst we view this development as being at the beginning of its journey, it is something that we consider to be a land of opportunity for ground transport partners to further drive cross-industry integration and collaboration, which should help address some of the climate impact of our current inefficient transportation networks.
Working in the innovation department at TBR is an exciting place to be, particularly as we enter a new decade. I look forward to seeing what 2020 has in store and which trends will emerge as game-changers of the future.
We will be running our ‘Driving excellence…’ content series throughout the course of January. Watch this space for further updates and if you would be interested in finding out how we can support you with your ground transportation needs, then get in touch with a member of our team today.
